hi there all,
i've got a car question to ask and was wondering whether anyone over here knows the solution to it. it's for my dad.

see my dad has a car number plate but he wants to change it to another number, is that possible? as in to change the car number plate without having to change the car. could somebody help me(my dad actually) with the process involved. he doesn't want a different car just a change of numbers and what do you do with the old one. can you de register it? help me somebody who knows. he has checked the LTA website on how to..but apparently they give no information.

thanks alot.

Call LTA, i think it's possible... though i am not too sure how it would work out.

i don think so ..
u can only keep the old plate if u decide to change a new car.

It can be done.

The rules have been changed recently. But you would have to pay a fee similar to the rego for a new car's license plate.

it's possible to change carplate # on existing car. just pay about 1k+ lor.

new car retain old number - pay $100
old car change new number - pay 1k+
new car take new system-assigned number - FOC
new car take bidded number - > $1k

correct, I keep the old car number for my new car two years ago. But when I bought a 2nd bike, I find is to exp. for me to retain my old bike number, pay $1k for number to use on a $2.5k bike.
