1.in what area is critique to be sought?
Seeking feedback mainly on composition. Even though the bird was caged I did not want to risk scaring it off and kept a distance. Yet I wanted the subject to sufficiently occupy the frame to reveal its different textures. The tail was placed off frame as including it would have meant "shrinking" the subject. Would different framing have been a better choice?
2.what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
This is not an ambitious nature shot but what I hope to achieve is to show the captivating parts of the bird: colours, texture, claws, and eyes. It's a feast for the eyes.
3.under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
This was a shot taken at 55mm/f6.3 under daylight. It was an unplanned shot as there were other birds around and other shots taken too. This one happened to be at the right location in the right posture.
4.what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
I like this photo because of the captured moment when the bird looked right through the cage bars and its body was lined up in a soft diagonal across the frame. I think the cage bars added an element of interest by showcasing its claws.
