I ran into AF problems on my 400D, so I sent it for servicing. They replaced the mirror box.

But now, the camera metering is driving me nuts!
(i) underexposes by 1 eV without flash
(ii) underexposes by 2 eV with flash
(iii) meters differently for different lenses in Av mode with otherwise identical settings (same ISO, same scene, same Av value etc)

What in the world are they doing??? Do they even check the cameras after servicing?

I was left without a camera for more than 2 weeks. Looks like I may be without one for some more time. Honestly, if this goes on, I feel like dropping Canon completely, especially given my horrible experience with the 70-300 lens (took 3 visits to get that portrait issue fixed). Not to mention the number of bad de-centred lenses that were only replaced after several attempts were made to convince them the lenses were out of spec.

Who are those people working at the service center?

write in straits times forum...sure they will take action

Now that I've vented my frustration, I feel slightly better now. OK, to be fair, they did check the focusing quite thorougly. Good job there.

But the metering... sigh....
