Hi all,

I got a Canon M3 that I would like to convert it for infrared as I have a M5 too. I do mostly black & white and any idea which is a good filter to use? Also can anyone recommend me someone who can do the conversion? I am in Pasir Ris.

Thanks for reading and help.

You mean you bought the right size IR filter? The DIY tutorial is provided.

No. Didn't buy the filter. Hoping to get someone to convert the M3 for me. I'm ok to pay for the conversion. Thanks

So you just want to remove IR cut filter and it becomes a full spectrum camera? Not a difficult thing to do even DIY.

Thanks but I'm not good at these stuff. Are you able to help? I just want my M3 to be able to do handheld infrared photography. I'm more into black & white landscapes. Thanks

If it was my own camera I could do it..but for someone's M3 it's too much responsibilty. If you look at the links..you have to remove a fair bit of screws and parts to get at the sensor even then then you have to know what you are removing as you are not suppose to touch the sesor assembly that is attached to focus calibration platform.A thorough readup and understanding of the procedure is advised and as you can see from the youtube video the whole procedure took 247 minutes, that's slightly over 4 hours. Not exactly profitable for time spent. Also a method or system of organisation is required as you can not possibly remember what screw or part goes where.:p
