Hello,

I will be travelling for 21 days to Europe (Greece & Turkey) and will like to consider buying a second hand or renting a UWA lens for the trip. (Probably Canon EFS 10-22mm will be great)

I am not entirely new to DSLR but not a frequent user. Mainly use my DSLR for travelling purposes (maybe twice a year).
Will it be more cost efficient to rent or buy a used lens? What are the rates like?
Also can i know where to find lens rental in Singapore?

Hope someone can help! :D

You should consider the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS instead.

Wide-angle everything gets boring after awhile; especially since you're travelling for a good 3 weeks.

21 days trip?
of course, it'll be worth it if u buy...
hehhe

@Fragment : it depends on your preference.
i use more on my 10 22 rather than 17 55 once i travel around. (Australia, Thailand, Europe)

i suggest you buy one instead of renting.

Say if the lens' rental is $10/day.... 20 days means $200. You won't lose $200 if you sell a 1-month old lens.

Best still, buy import sets to save even more.

Or get a used copy, and sell it later at the end of the trip. The loss made will be much less than total rental incurred.

i concur with the rest above, buy a second hand and sell off later.

+1, as long as TS don't overpaid the 2nd hand lens, he is likely to be able to sell it at his cost.
