Are there enough third party lens (without the need for adaptor) for the Canon M series?

Is there high quality slow mo?

This two might be a Sony APSC killer!

The current line of EOS M lenses is laughable.
EOS M is the only interchangeable lens system with more bodies than lenses.
Fortunately, EF-S and EF lenses can easily fit on M bodies via an adapter, retaining all AF, OIS and metering functions.
The only downside is the size of the EF-S and EF lenses compared to native EOS-M lenses.
While there are only a couple of EOS-M lenses from Tamron, all third party EF/EF-S lenses works with the adapter. So there are plenty of good and cheap AF lenses to select from including those from Yongnuo and Samyang.

Currently, the M5 and M6 tops out 60fps slowmo in 1080p, but the Digic 8 processor in the M50 should be capable of 120fps.

Canon has been fiercely protectivel of its Cinema line, so don't expect C-log in their mirrorless range.
In this regard, Sony has an edge.

If Sony ever does this screen for any camera I would buy it as soon as it hits store... ;p

Price of the M50 is just USD779!

Now that the specs for M50 are officially announced, I got to say Canon continues to be anal retentive about 4K. Not allowing DPAF to work in the 4K mode is kind of unexpected given that 4K and DPAF works on their Cinema line and the XF400.
That said, what are the concessions Canon made that makes the M50 still a pretty attractive money-for-value tool?

1. DPAF area (1080p) is improved with 100% (and 80% horizontal) vertical height covered with phase detect points.
2. Vari-angle flip to the side LCD just like the 80D
3. Audio monitoring is likely possible because the HDMI output will send a dirty (red dot) signal during recording. All is needed is a cheap and tiny micro HDMI to VGA (with 3.5mm) adapter.
4. Conveniently located movie button!

Just these four features puts it at the apex of the EOS-M range for video. (The numbering system is downright baffling: MXX better than MX better than MXXX)

If 1080p is all you need, the price tag of the M50 makes it a good contender for a HD video camera with reliable autofocus performance and a wide selection of AF lenses from many many brands.
