Canon IXUS 330...

I'm looking for a compact camera which enables me to take decent day/night images which will be archived digitally. Some of the images may be sent to photolabs to print into 4R.

Does the IXUS 330 fit my usage requirement? Will a 2 megapixel cam be sufficient for 4R prints?

How much should I buy the camera for? How much is the spare batt?

It could. 2MP is sufficient for 4R.
