Canon G12 or Nikon P500. Which one is better?

Hi, I want to buy digital camera. Should I get Canon G12 or Nikon P500? Or any other brands/models which is around this range of price?

The g12 direct competitor is the Nikon p7100. You can also consider the Olympus xz-1/Panasonic lx5. Or go one step higher and get one of the mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras.
