just bought the cam today. had trouble taking macro shots though the macro function is on. The cam cant focus when i go tooo close.

want to ask what other equipments do i need to take a decent macro?

The min focusing for macro is 5cm.
You might need to get the tube adapter inorder to use closed-up
filter to increase the closed-up power.
The adapter come in 52mm or 37mm. More can be ready HERE.
So with the adapter, you can get 52mm or 32mm closed-up filter to add on.
If you interested, I am selling the 37mm tube adapter for A95.

I've a A80. Macro photography requires lots of light.

You must not go closer than 5cm from the lens to the object at widest angle (no zoom)

see A95 specification at dpreview

For indoor macro photography, try to use tripod, timer mode (2 sec), small aperture value like f8 and lowest ISO like 50. If possible, get external lighting like table lamp to shine onto the object.

i see, so any closer than 5cm, the cam cant focus?

y use a timer mode, rather than just pressing the shutter straight?

and also how do i prevent the pic from getting overexpose due to flash?

for indoor, when you use ISO 50 and f8, usually you will get speed like 1/8sec or slower, it is good to mount your cam on tripod. The timer mode is to reduce the necessary shake when you press the shutter button.
