Canon A40 -> Can your A40 focus at full zoom ..?

Mine cannot focus most of the time at full zoom ...
Cannot get any green box and no green light and no 2 beeps ...

How's yours ??

Maybe mine is a faulty cam ??

Any advice ??

Yeah, it happens to me too. But not all the time.

Happens when taking pictures of something far away. But in such instances, I will set it to "P" programmed AE and set to infinity focus. So, far pics still come out looking focused.

I don't have sample pics now will try to post some tomorrow ...

I've tried taking some pics 3 metres away with full zoom but also cannot focus ....

I notice the same problem too at full zoom. However, if i take the zoom back a little, AF kicks in properly. Maybe the AF trying to move the lens to a higher Zoom but unable to do so.. yet it reported back to the camera that it has focused the shot.


PS: the above is noted in M mode.
