Hi guyz,

just dropped my 50mm f.1.8 on the tarmac. the lens become two part now, but nothing really broke except the ribbon cable. Any idea how to fix it back? what should i do? Sell to somewhere or get a new one? i only hav an alternate kit lens now

Can't really figure what you're talking about. Maybe you can take a picture of it to show us.

Considering how cheap this lens is... I think you may be better off buying a new one as I suspect the repair costs may come up to a figure close to that of a new one...

Try using it to shoot and see if it still works.

It can't be repaired.
I dun think there's any screw u can unscrew to open it.

Put it back together and use it as a inverted close up lens +20?

Other way, you can call Canon service center and hear their opinion. Is it under warranty?

Regards,
Arto.

Don't think Canon warranty covers damage caused by dropping.

Use as paperweight or magnifiying glass?
