, and not sure whether worth it get one.

Why not? It's half of the normal selling price. If you don't like it, sell it here in the BnS section and you'll still earn.

totally get it! this lens is a lens for people who want to upgrade but don't really know which area of photography to go into..

Your kit lens + this lens should suffice until u figure out which discipline you want to go into..
