Hi all, I've been hearing lots of comments on bad copies of the above lens (Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS)

- Front / Back focusing issues
- Contrast and sharpness on left and right of image not the same
- IS Motor malfunction after 1 year

Is there anyway we can do a quick check at the counter before we purchase the item especially on the Image quality concern? :dunno:

You can either bring your own laptop and check the images on the spot or bring your camera to the shop to test the lens. I usually will request the shop to hold on to the copy that I tried out for a day or 2 so that I can check for Q.C. Most reputable shops offer 7 days 1 to 1 exchange for defective lenses.
