Can I replace it with NiMH

Can I replace the NiCd in the battery pack of the Metz 45 CL1 with NiMH ?
Any reason why Metz use NiCd instead of NiMH ?

If you replace the NiCd to NiMh you must change the charger also coz NiMh charger is different from NiCd. If not Battery might not charge fully or it may Explode!

OIC thanks.Just realised the batteries inside are tabbed batteries soldered. Wouldn't try it. Anyone knows where to get battery holder ? CP says no stock from the distributor.
