hi guys,

may i know what is the ultimate camera strap for u?
i would like to know what works for you.
u see, i have the privilege to travel to new york and los angeles quite often and have access to stuff unavailable in singapore.
usually i get amazon to deliver it to my hotel.
i am a nooby and i am sure with your vast experience it photography, u r bound to swear by some strap.
pls, no generic answers like all straps work, just depends on what u want to use it for.
state your preference, and i'll do my research.
many thanks.

Get a Optech Pro Loop, once black, there's no turning back.

I replaced the original strap mainly because it's troublesome to unstrap/re-strap everytime I need to place the camera into/out of the underwater housing. Using a BlackRapid RS4 now which attaches to the the camera tripod mount.

CP = Cathay Photo, at Peninsular Plaza.

OP = Orient Photo, at 6th floor Sim Lim Square

Prices are quite the same, just that they are the ones that carry those straps, and they are respectable stores.

Also, other straps you might want to check out.

Crumpler Industry Disgrace - Crumpler store at Ion
Vanguard strap - Not sure where.

Lol!! Centerpoint? Orchard point?
Did I look like a nooby or what. Haha.
Thank you for the input guys.
Appreciate it.
Have a good week ahead.
Cheers.

I tested in the shops quite a few straps recommended by many here prior making my choice
In the end chose Crumpler Industrial Disgrace.
https://www.crumpler.com.sg/flash/flash.aspx#/english/product-details/industry-disgrace-id02a.html

Very basic strap. no other tricks up its sleeves
But met my basic needs of having a comfy strap.
It just don't cut into my neck like straps that c/w cams do even after a 3 hours walk with it with my 1.2?kg cam+lens.

PS I'm new here, don't bite :)

afterall, straps are like bags, it boils down to personal preference. If u are comfortable with this and it does its job, then u can stick with it.

usually i use the free one

Yup, Everyone has their own preference. Can't just base on feedback and buy 1 w/o testing.
CS members' preferences can use it as a shortlist to test all out.

pardon me for asking, this crumpler industry disgrace,
is it long enuff to take picture on a side sling?the current op/tec 1 that im using is not able to do that, cos its kinda short...

im looking for something that works like blackrapid rs4 kinda function, where can do a side sling n still shoot without the need to unsling

+1 crumpler industrial disgrace

had an optech pro-loop before but sold it cos i din like it.

just got it...2nd hand off BnS forum..looks promising the sling is long enuff to do a side sling n i can bring up the camera also

I have been using the original strap for 8 months. 2 problems I experienced.
1) can be tiring hanging around your neck whole day.
2) strap difficult to remove and not hygienic to keep inside dry cabinet.

I recently change to the sling type. Used for a day and i think I like it. Got to be careful as it swing a lot and don't hit anything. May want to shorten so that camera is higher and less swing.

The $10 neoprene strap is good enough...... V comfy
