I like to ask if anyone have been to camera talk in sim lim square?Is the price okay?

it's better to check with them if it's agent warranty or shop warranty.
Choosing which one will be up to you.

Sim Lim Sq shopping has to be prudent. Shops like Cathay, Alan Photo, Merdeka , and those with stars in the Directory is proven OK. Some without stars are OK too depend on the overall transaction.

Generally, some say, the modus operandi is to quote ridiculous cheap price to snare you in. Then they try to offer you this and that. If you refuse and only insist for the incredably cheap kit, they will say that they need to go to store to get the product and appear later to say no stock. If you bite the kit with all the extras, they will sell to you but after going through the details, you may end up paying higher.

I got quote for $900 for Canon 450D kit set and went trough the whole process above.

Anyway, it is fun to shop there, and my case could be isolated and hearsay only. Just be prudent...there is no free lunch.

Beware of shops in Sim Lim. My fren's mother got taken for a ride when she wanted to buy her a birthday present, and ended being "convinced" to buy something else at 5x the price. What was suppose to be a happy birthday present and occasion turned sour because of what happened. I would recommend only Alan Photo (look for Steven, nice guy) or Orient Photos in SLS.

If you do a search in this forum of complaints of shops in SLS, you would find quite a few.

In anycase, if you are going to shop at SLS, make sure you do your homework, and do not buy anything (no matter how good the person says it is) without first knowing what the street prices are.

my frens do buy camera and accessories from them, prices quoted by them are comparable but not necessary cheapest.
personally, I like TK, John 3:16, Alan and Cathay better, have been buying stuff from them, am somehow a 'frequent flyer', usually managed to get slightly lower quote esp when paid cash.
