I am considering this combo : Sony 550 or 550 L with CZ 16-80 lens.

My purpose is to take travel and general photography. The total cost for this combo is around 2.5 k

FYI,A550L comes with kit lens(18-55).So if you are getting the CZ 16-80,why get the kit lens also?

Total cost is 2.5k?After adding in basic accessories like filters/dry cab/bag/etc...it'll be almost 2.6-2.7k

sounds like a good body and a good lens with a useful range for walkabout/travel.
Don't forget to budget for the extras like dry cabinet, filters, tripod, etc.
