Which town will you be in?
Generally, there are many ancient (9th to 15 th century) temple complexes every where. Just get the local tuk-tuk to bring you around.
Go Tonle Sap lake, one of the largest fresh water lake in the world. See the "boat people" there.
If it rains, it might flood like in 2011 when even the town of Siem Reap was flooded all the way to Angkor Wat. In any case, the walking would be tough with all the mud and all on the roads and tracks. December is the best time of the year to visit Siem Reap.

It covers most "must go" areas. This will help you to plan your trip. You can just flag down a Tuk-Tuk to bring you to all these places. There are more Tuk-tuk than passengers. So no worries about transport.

If you are only in Siem Reap, there's only those few touristy places that you can possibly go to (Tongle sap, temples, temples, temples). Sunrise at Angkor is a must though. If I am not wrong, most hotels should be able to arrange for you these tours at reasonable prices, via a van or the tuk tuk.

How was your trip Kish? I am doing similar trip. Any advise? Heard hotels add on $ for getting tours and ride, any tip?
