Hi, im a medical undergrad that happened to see this thread.
For comparison you should have posted photos from both of your eyes. Without examination of your other eye, its quite hard to diagnose anything.
It could be a benign condition you've just never noticed.
I would advise you to visit the nearest GP if your eyesight worsens or if you start noticing halos in your vision. Also note for any other visual oddities. Lastly check if your eyeball has become very hard or unusually soft. (easily checked by pressing a finger over the affected eye.)

Is it the eye you use to look into the viewfinder?
A keen amatuer stars into a viewfinder averagely for 3 hours a week (more if he is shooting female models). An opthological condition called "One eye big and one eye small" may develop over the years.
I am not an eye doctor but where I live there is a street Chinese medicine man or Sensei who treats all sorts of ailments whom I learn a thing or two.

BOTH my eyes have that lower white crecent. BOTH Eyes the Black part sorts streaks into the white area... Different from normal people... :dunno:

could be arcus senilis (benign condition) if you are aging. consider seeking advice from an eye specialist if you are unwell in terms of blurring vision, constant headache or eye pain, or if you are unsure or worried.

The white ring may be due to ageing, high cholesterol or something that you are just prone to developing. You did not mention how old you are. Perhaps you may want to consider a cholesterol check.

BTW, there is an instrument that can give the doctor such a big view of the eye (sometimes even bigger) with fancy lighting.
there are. x times magnifying glass. where the eye doctor use it to view the patient's eyes. sometimes, assisted with illumination.

Yes i agree. Optic Arcus only tends to happen to people above 50. A quick nip down to the GP will settle most problems.
An opthalmoscopy will probably be done to check the inner vessels, optic disk and optic nerve. Its a quick non-invasive procedure.
