how to improve contrast of c41 b/w film (xp2,t400cn)

I know by adding filter can but the contrast is still not enough. What color filter is suitable to increase constrast on portraits?

try green or yellow-green filter first. Blue should darken skin the most, I think.

Actually i think the low contrast is due to using colour paper. Have anyone tried printing XP2 on black and white paper??

have tried yellow green, still feel that the constrast is weak

Oh yeah... I dunno whether u know or not, but I rate both xp2 super and t400cn as 200 speed film, that is I over-expose it 1 stop more to get better contrast. They look much better to me that way.

Get them scanned, tweak them in PS, then send them in and print digitally. Or print them onto traditional B&W paper (either high grade B&W paper, or if using multigrade, use a high grade filter).
