Hi all, I am planning to buy A40 once there¡¯s stock in AP. Wanna get every accessories at one go, so need you guys to check my list:

Things to get at AP?
1) A40 - $510-530
2) lens adapter - $35
3) hoya UV lens - $10
4) hoya +4 filter - $15
5) Sanyo AA 1850mAh batt x 4 @ $3.50ea - $14
6) 128MB CF card - $85
Total - $669-689

For battery charger, I am looking for one that is ¡°intelligent¡±:
1) able to switch off charging by itself
2) able to detect capacity of battery, so can switch off charging for full batt to prevent overcharging.
3) discharge battery to improve battery life in long-run
4) charge 4 batteries at least, under 4 hr
5) charge AAA batteries too.
6) mix and charge different batt size eg. charge 2xAA and 2xAAA together
7) voltage selector of 110/220
Heard MW4798 ($18) or MW4798N ($38) @ Mustafa is good?
Or MW8168, read it somewhere but dunno its capabilities?
Or the Casio one, which I read act as adapter for A40 too?
Kindly recommend the charger and please state price & location.

Any recommendation for:
8) AAA batt, as high capacity as possible x 4 - $?
9) Camera case (read lowepro D-res series @ CP is fine)
10) Camera bag
11) Tripod

Thanks!

hey, you have forgotten about one more thing, Mem Reader?

is it really necessary for the mem reader?
can just download into PC to check right?

Hi,

Most prob I'm gonna buy an A40 next week as well. Perhaps we can buy it together.

btw, may I know what are these items for?

2) lens adapter - $35
3) hoya UV lens - $10
4) hoya +4 filter - $15

Thanks.

Casio Charger does not charge AAAs.

Think the MW4798 sold at Mustafa is rated 220V.

will be going down this evening, if everythings ok, im getting it.

yippee !

This depends on individual...
For me I use the cable to connect directly to A40 and transfer the images over... And so far it serves me well... ;)

hey...now got stock meh??

Carrefour is selling the Fujifilm 2800Z @ $699.
Is it better than the A40? The 6X optical zoom is tempting....

there's pros & cons...
but i would prefer A40 becos of the cheaper price & also better picture quality.

If u r gng to take night shots, then don't even consider Fuji 2800. From the number of A40 users in this forum, surely they can't be wrong.

Any idea where can I see some sample amateur shots of the a40 (night shots as well)?
Couldn't find any night shots in those review sites......

I finally got my A40 yesterday!! Yippee doodle!!:gbounce:

Got it from M S Colour at AMK. $520. Might be a bit higher than AP but never mind lah since I've been waiting for it for so long. According to the boss, I got the last piece but I don't know if it's just a marketing gimmick, so you might want to call him to check. 64576380.

Good luck!
