Hi, I currently own a Canon 60D (old i know). And a Sigma DC 18-200mm f3.5-6.4 HSM lens (picture attached).

1. What is my current lens good at? (e.g. street photog, sports, portraits...)
2.What would be a good value second lens to get? (was thinking a large aperture, f1.4 ?)

Recently I started paying greater attention to photography as a hobbie, watched Peter mcKinnon Youtube vids, and asked my photo-enthusiast friends who introed me to this forum.

3. To add on why I became interested, I am flying to US at the end of next month and want to be able to take awesome pictures (architecture, scenery, portrait, street photog, nightshoots) as well as good B-roll video with my DSLR. Do you guys rec any specific lens to get that would help me accomplish thiis!!

Really appreciate the advice you guys give!!!

I agree with Bamboopictures.

You may want to consider the (choose 1)

a) Canon 10-18mm f/4,5-5,6 IS STM (Architecture, Scenery, etc)
b) Sigma 18-35mm f/1,8 Art (street photog, environmental portraits, nightshoots, video, etc)
c) 50mm f/1,8 or f/1,4 (nightshoots, portraits)
d) 70-200mm f/2,8 (Sports, Portraits, Scenery, etc)

I assume you have a tripod.

:p

if you're travelling light and dont want to switch out lenses then your 18-200 is plenty good
Dont worry about the relatively slow speed of the lens as long as you stay below ISO1000 (for THAT generation of cameras noise is pretty OK up till ISO 1600)

But if you're dead set on upgrading better glass ..... I suggest a good all rounder in either the 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS non-USM or the 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens. Both are EF-S mounts

If lens motor speed is not important to you then go for the 18-135 zoom

Best of luck and happy travels !

you may want to consider a Ultra Wide Angle for 10mm~20mm.
Happy Shooting!
