So,when you go overseas brining your tripod,do you hand carry it or check it in if your tripod has a tripod bag

Check in my tripod with my luggage. Dun see any possible harm that can happen to them. Cant say the same for the camera though. Tripod is too bulky to carry on board. I travel budget airline ;p

tripod + head.. regular one.. not those mini ones.

I was asked to checked in before. They were worried I use it as a weapon to hijack the plane which is nonsense of course since I've carried 6 bottles of anesthetic gas on board before.. enough to put the whole plane to sleep.. LOL.

Why not when you go HK,don't bring your camera and go there and buy :bsmilie:

A quick CS search using 'brining tripod overseas' and 'how to bring tripod overseas',no relevant answers came out, most of them where which tripod to buy and all that or protecting camera gears,no such question about how to bring a tripod overseas.Maybe it's my search word

either i hand carry it in a tripod bag, or i dump it with the tripod bag into the luggage. ;)

i dont travel with big hardcover luggage too. I just strap the tripod in its bag to the side of my back pack. And for me i will just put a rain cover over my bag and zip everything up so things dun go falling out of my bag and get lost.

i've travelled a few times with handcarry tripod... alu 055 manfrotto also have... slik CF also have..
