a bit of OT here but just wish to share this with you all.........

Feels kind of ‘cheated’ after having breakfast over at KFC this morning with my family. I dun have the habit to visit KFC but the recent TV ads and roadside posters of the Ultimate Chicken Meal looks so delicious and inviting………
Big Chicken Burger + Pop Corn Chicken + a piece chicken meat + drink……beside the regular size of the drink and the piece of meat…the rest are so pathetic small like toys……even my little girl also know how to complain it when she opened the box of the meal……so disappointing….. :( sigh. The whole set looks so different from the poster or from the TV as shown……my wife, my 2 kids and I finished 3 boxes of such meals and ended up eating prata over at an Indian fast food rest. beside.
With this …guess I won’t be stepping into KFC again……and for those who wish to try out this so call the Ultimate Chicken Meal….prepare to get something smaller than what you see. :(

ha ha ha....you are not the first one...which is why i always go back to McDonald's...

They're all like that. Can't compare to the American fast food outlets. Freeflow drinks and the burgers are at least 15cm wide...

It's a "mini" popcorn chicken...even smaller than your regular "small" popcorn chicken...I got quite a mild shock too when I first found out it's so small.

But the chicken, it's the same tray they take for the normal meals...it's just that they only give you the smaller parts, e.g. wings. Usually 2-pc or 3-pc meals they will give you the bigger rib or breast parts mixed with the wings, so you don't feel the wing being so small.

I think the 2-pc meal is more worth it in the end...

Welcome to the World of Advertising.

Nothing is REAL in commercial.

It's all made up.......all the Fast food joint is a Big Conspiracy! :bsmilie:

Look the Pizza Hut, pizza looks so delicious on TV but after coming out of the oven...........but size is still there though!

If they do not look attractive, you would not have bother to go KFC as well right? Hawker centres are the same as well. Photos looks good but when they serve you....."Eh uncle I ordered Fried Kuay Teow, not Fried Charcoal" :D

got a shock when i open my Quarter pounder from Mcdonald also..

look like "kiu chui"pounder instead..

Well, this may be one way to lose weight, i guess... there was a big fuss over the 'Super Size Me' thing in US remember? Singapore fastfood outlets will never have that problem.

The only value for money fastfood burger in SG is probably the Whopper. Otherwise, go for Billy Bombers for the real mccoy.

ha ha you not the only one to complaint small. Have you notice that the chicken parts had also been smaller now.

Burger King BBQ bacon double cheese burger

Yummy:thumbsup:

My complain...

Noticed how the fish fillet is larger than that bread in the advertisements and the cheese slice is aligned with the fish fillet?

And when you open yours...

You find 2 slices of bread, and if you're lucky, you actually get to taste some fish fillet.

Hope you don't mind a little pontificating....

Be glad about the small portions my frens -->

Singapore already has one of the highest prevalence rate of diabetes in the world, despite an overweight/obesity rate which is lower than the west. If obesity skyrockets here (which it is threatening to), we have a serious health care issue, on a personal and national scale.

So I say, keep the portions small. Most Singaporeans are in overwhelming excess energy balance already, a little starvation wouldn't hurt.

Ok, getting off my soap-box now......

You're right. But perhaps most of us would be less disgruntled if the prices were correspondingly lower. :)

Anyway, Subway is really the best choice for fastfood. It's really faster than Macs and BK. The sandwich comes with lots of vegetables, you can choose healthier meats like ham or turkey breast or tuna and your set meals comes with delicious soft cookies.

I think last week new paper got an article comparing fast food prices between spore n malaysia, n the difference is alot almost half

Depends on where u go... like in Genting, there is no difference... :)

I rather go for subway too. much more worth it and it is very healthy and low fat/calories! :D
