the first shot... maybe if the flare was on a diagonal.... or not there at all.

the second.... blown highlights. watch your exposure.

Your photos have not clear subject. They seem cluttered. Perhaps you will like to cut out the trees in the first photo (unless you want to add framing). Framing one of the tortoise might be better.
