Outing to Botanic Gardens

Some of CS members are going to Botanic Gardens this coming Saturday (13/07/2002). Outing is opened to everyone. Anyone who is interested to join us, please reply the thread , just turn up, pm me or call me 97807082 (Johnny Koh).

Meeting Place : Botanic Gardens Main Entrance Gate
Time : 0830 - 1300 hrs
Date : 13th July 2002
- Late comers, please meet at the 1st pond (Marsh Garden) near the gate
- Should it rain, the photo session will be cancelled.

Type of shots we are expecting to take :

• insects macro shots e.g. bee, bug, dragonfly, fly, butterfly, spider or grasshopper
• reptile shots e.g. Tinny froggie, turtle or lizard
• bird shots e.g. swan, kingfisher and duck
• flower shots
• scenery shots e.g. green grass, trees, plants or ponds
• human portrait shots e.g. candid or modelling

items recommended to bring :

• your own camera
• external flash (if you have)
• camera bag
• camera accessories like closeup filters / lens or teleconverter
• extra batt / media
• tripod (will help more in macro shots)
• filter like polariser , neutral density (ND) or warm
• drinking water
• cap/hat

I am not using Pro 90 tomorrow... still learning to take macro shot using SLR / DSLR .

But I can give some tips on where to find insects , how to compose , settings of the shot.
