Botanic Garden (28 Feb)

This is my second photoshoot @ Botanic Garden.

Went there at 8am. But I was quite disappointed that I can't find a single dragonfly or any other insects to shoot at! I only manage to shoot a pair of dragon fly flying together at the lotus pond.

Shooting of insects and flower can be quite boring...so i am trying out some nice effect by playing ard with the aperture

The trees are nice too...but...someone was blocking my view....cos i dun have a 18mm wide angle lens like YS....so i have to go far far away to take this shot

Here are the two lovely blue dragonflies that flies together.

(Sorry for the lousy photo there)

And then they separated after mating??

I also manage to catch hold of a honeybee.

Ohoo...... I like the white lotus. It has this 3D effect. The colors are also great. How did you do it? My shots certainly pale in comparison with yours. Don't dare to post. The guy in the last shot looks familiar.

hmm....i think it is not me...but the camera? Thanks Disney colour and Carl Zeiss lens..

btw, for the lotus shot, i use aperture piority

EV -2.0

should i use smaller aperture? look like the edge of the lotus is quite blur.

hmm..for the pink lotus...i should have use longer exposure...then u can see the trail left behind my the insects...cos they were crawling around very quickly.

i use F5.6, 1/60s

acutally most of the pic have gone thru tweaking in Photoshop to bring out more effect.

do u all want to see the orginal photo??

Bokeh is a Japanese word meaning "blur" -> describe the background effect ... more bokeh gives nicer effect ...
