Bliss At Orchard (Full size)

1.In what area is critique to be sought?
Seeking feedback on composition, as well as techniques. Photo taken on a Canon 1000D with a 50mm f/1.8 II.
Aperture: f/2
Shutter speed: 1/20s
ISO:200
The slow shutter speed made the photo blur, but didn't have much choice due to lighting conditions. Didn't want to bump up ISO for fear of noise.

2.What one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
Wanted to capture an unusual moment in the heart of Orchard (taken in front of ION Orchard MRT entrance). Couple (appearing to be) blissful and oblivious to the passer-bys.

3.Under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
Was happily snapping at the ION facade when I noticed the photographer and the couple. Did a quick adjustment on my cam and managed to capture the couple under the spotlight with the photographer getting ready to snap away.

4.What the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture
Thought the composition of the shot is alright: Couple well-lit under the lights and the photographer in position to shoot. However, the camera shake (no tripod) and the busy background didn't make it as ideal as I would have wanted.

My first critique. Appreciate your comments.

could have gone nearer or crop tighter. the photographer doesn't add to your image if u crop him out. i almost didn't see him there. i think you can run a higher iso if you worry abt handshake at such low shutter speed. i am sure you can run NR on the pic in post processing.

right time right place.

poor composition(focal point too small).
too many distracting elements(focal point is small thus everything around will distract viewer). focusing is off too(the camera overhead is in focus, so are the plants but not the couple).

should have gone in closer, make the couple much larger in ur photo, and use a longer shutter speed to blur everyone else around who's moving. bw would be better too.

I agree. A closer zoom into the couple would be much better. ;)
