Black Crowned Night Heron (at last ! ... for me)

I've always wanted to get a picture of this fella. After a few trips that resulted in me going back empty handed, I finally managed to get a few shots this afternoon

Here is one of the better ones :

D70 + 70-300G + 2x TC. Tripod mounted.

Thanks. Yeah, I was quite surprised too. I think the shutter speed was just enough to clear the mirror-slap effect on my camera :think: . I was using between 1/20 and 1/45 for all the shots today.

That's a beautiful Heron! Wonder if this can be found in SBWR (can't remember the species there).
