I would ahve taken the cliche head on shot to emphasize on the pattern

Think it's an ok shot. Nothing fantastic cos it doesn't say anything. But if you want a shot of stacked up monk stools, how much better can you get than this? The darkness of the shot actually heightens the ambience and involves the viewers. Looking at the shot you actually feel you're there, in this room that's quite dark, with the stools all stacked up on one side.
All details are retained in this shot such that you can almost feel the texture of these stools, so don't let anyone tell you it's underexposed.

i like this shot. it looks ok to me although one of the stools/ chairs placed in the bottom right corner would have provided some depth and also subject-focus. :)
