I will be going to S'pore this weekend and I'm looking for camouflage hide that is suitable for setting up in our climate for bird photography. Anyone her can point me in the right direction please? I was told that there are a number of shops at Beach road that sells army stuff. Can I get the hide from there?. Or maybe just some camo material and make the hide myself.

TQ

I dun think anyone makes any hides for sale locally. You'd probably want to get the camo material to cover an existing tent frame, it'll be easier and cheaper too, I think. ;)

well......... singapore is very hot. and because of the climate, the only "hide" most birders have would be a mobile hide.

if you wish to know more. let me know. i can point you to the direction to get contacts.

pm me.

if you want to built a hide. i must say its not very possible.

like what ortega said. the best bet is still car or van.

as long as it "cancels" off your human body head and overall shape can already.

army sell poncho... but the thing is that poncho's material is very awkward for birding.

you can alternative wear khakis/green pants shirts. plus a camo hat drap over a camo net....
but aiyah. pple seldom do that.. that drive vehicles in.... the specialised forums will definately teach you more in birding and the techniques. ;)

Thanks guys for all the responses.

Yes, the vehicle is the best hide but there are places that you just have to leave your car behind and walk. Hide could be hot in our weather but I guess if one uses the netting type, it might just work. Anyway, I'll try to see what I can get around the place.
