I got a compact Bushnell fr Amazon for about 1/3 - 2/3 of the price quoted locally. Includes shipment via vPOST. Total S$50+ vs S$90-150 quoted by SLS shops.

Online shopping rocks :D

Hi Artic,
There are many uses for binos, watching theatre/concerts, bird watching, sailing etc. Some have compasses built in, some are very small for holding for long periods, some are designed for microcontrast (bird watching etc) in low light. Some are designed for heavy duty use with extensive waterproofing and impact resistance. So it depends on your budget and intended use.

I saw one shop at Peninsula selling Steiner binos, maybe you can have a look. I think its located on level 2.

Singapore Post is selling cheap $30+ binoculars under the Ricoh brand as a National Day promo. Available at all post offices. Not too bad.
