Please provide more information than just "I open the file and I can't see it". No one can help you with such a general question with no specifics.

What kind of file? .jpg .nef .png .psb .tiff?
It would be good if you can upload this file and provide us with a link to it. So we can try it out. And what is your OS?

Why don't you contact Adobe? You have free support incidents with your CS4 license.

i opened it in jpeg, raw, and all other format. i still cant see the picture.
there's no error message when i open the file
im on windows vista 64bit. but i used the normal cs4 instead of the 64bit cs4.
so far im using a 64bit LR2 and it works perfectly fine.

i use both 32bit and 64bit CS4 on my 64bit win7.
reason is that 64bit CS4 is not able run most 3rd party plugins but is faster.

not true, 32bit CS4 can still be used on 64bit OS
Yup just to make it clear i don't think it's a 32-bit on 64bit system problem.

I don't know what's wrong with your cs4, but i can offer one advice, that is to update your graphics drivers to latest version, then try again.

I have a similar "problem", that is when I open a photograph, it's always at like some miniscule magnification... like, 0.4% or something. And I always had to adjust it to about 12.5% or 33% to be able to see and edit it on my 13" screen. Could yours be like that too?

nope, i cant even see the picture at all totally.

what i can see is the window showing the file name of the pic.

i need to drag that window ard the workspace to see a transparent view of the pic.
