Just a friendly heads up. I'm sure all of us consider ourselves intelligent and discerning enough not to fall for this kind of thing, but then again, these gaylord scammers run a multi-million racket so a little bit of take-care would do everyone good.

The email is tailor made. Very impressive.

$XXXX is ok. my husband and I just arrived home from Changi Singapore,
where he was on an educational research and i saw a lot of beautiful
Digital SLR cameras in Singapore but never had the time to shop
because we were too occupied with a lot of things but a friend we met
in Changi told me that i can buy from clubsnap forum anytime at my
convenience and when i saw this item i really liked it so much and i
will like to purchase it for my friend's son who is currently taking
an exchange program in Lagos, Nigeria and i will like to know if you
can help me with the delivery via FedEx courier service in Singapore.

The reason why i am buying from you and wanting you to help me with
the delivery is simply because it will be more easier than sending it
to the USA and later i have to send it back to Africa. he is currently
temporary in the country and i will like to know if you could send it
via FedEx courier Express delivery service so he could pick it up
heading back to the UK. I am okay with the cost of the item and i will
like to know how much it will cost for both the postage altogether.

Kindly log on to FedEx courier service website FedEx - Singapore
and inquire about the postal charge to Lagos Nigeria. You can get
through to FedEx Customer service toll free line 1-800 743 2626 to get
the shipment quotation, rates and transit times. You can also order a
pick up request.

Please do get back to me as soon as possible with the total cost and
also your banking details so i could transfer the payment via a bank
in Boston. I wait to hear from you soon and thanks for your
understanding.

Regards,

Maybe I should get the address, and send a nice big bag of poo over :).

Cheerios.

what happen if you give her a reasonable rate for FedEx, say $100-200 and the buyer really transfers 100% of the money to you? :p

Then shout "huat ah !"

Tell them you are the son of a S'pore minister and 'required' his help to transfer ill gotten funds out of S'pore... but you need a good will transfer of $1 million USD from him to begin the transfer...

You'll most probably be investigated by SPF for fraud and impersonation.

Case probably closed and charges filed within six hours. Very efficient!

To share with everyone: if you have received email from either abu.razak@blumail.org or williamjensen25@gmail.com, do not deal with them as they will give dubious instructions after agreeing too easily to your offer. They will instruct you to courier the item to West Africa for a "co-worker as birthday gift" or "...West Africa on is wedding ceremony coming up very soon". Please share with all of your friends.

Scam.

Happened to me past few months back also, I sell to local gentleman instead.

There must be some "Degree in Scam" in nigerian schools. Only the ones with better grades may apply.

It's probably called "IT Entrepreneurship"

heng! I decided to do an email check. This guy also email me for a sale.

I also received emails asking me to post my items to Nigeria. Hahaha! But to me, if the person really transfer the money over, then of course I will send the item. I don't care who's receiving it, as long as my item is paid for...

Most of my time if I am so damn free, just read their very creative stories and then laughed. Just to keep myself amused.

Reply to them that you are the prince of Singapore and the one true rightful heir to the throne. Your family account of 500 Singapore billion dollars need to transfer to Africa for safety but you need their help.

Or you can ship them some bank notes from the last lunar month.

This guy is still lurking in CS... N he actually provided me with his address to send to...

Extract from Email abu.razak@blumail.org:
I want to purchase this item for my
folk, he was transferred to serve as a fiscal coordinator in west
Africa. Currently I am in (Dallas Texas) North America for a program,
and I'm seeking your help in getting the item posted to him over there
cause I don't have the time to send it to him myself, due to my
workloads, and I will be grateful if you can help me post the item to
him.

Listed here under is the address for the delivery:

Addressee: Benson Patrick
Delivery address: 13 Oseni street Lawanson Surulere
City/state: Lagos
Nigeria
Zip code: 23401

Kindly log on to Singapore post website www.singpost.com to inquire
about the cost of shipment since you know the weight and size of the
item. I want the item posted via SpeedPost EMS with 3-5 business days
service. You can talk to Singpost customer service personnel via any
of these numbers +65 6841 2000,+65 6222 5777 to get the shipment cost.
You can also order for a pickup right from your home or office if you
are busy.

How can I get the fund through to you? can I get the money through to
you via bank transfer? if this is okay with you, then email me the
total cost for everything inclusive of your full bank account data as
it is listed below:

Account holder:

BIC(SWIFT) or IBAN:

Thanks for your understanding,

Write soon!

These scams are designed to fool 1 in 10000 people. So while it may be obvious n pathetic to the remaining 9999, there will be that 1 greedy and/or naive sucker who falls for it. That's why they never stop trying.

This scammers is getting better.

I kana in eBay. The buyer wan to buy my Gucci bag via email. The even sent me a 'FAKE' e-receipt of PayPal!

I registered the parcel in Singpost in the morning and later call up PayPal to check and found out the fake payment.

Managed to re-called my parcel in the afternoon.

Just be aware of PayPal payment.

wow this is something new... fake paypal e-reciept... thanks for heads up!

I don't sell stuff via eBay and am not so familiar with receiving PayPal payments. But isn't the safest way to wait for notification from PayPal (and not the buyer) before sending the item?
