Is it true that Sim Lim offers great deals?

Any other places?

oh no
sim lim is for good pc buys
for cameras, not so hot.
the best camera shop there, alan photo got mixed review.
some say good
some say not so good salesmen
wty card missing when get home (don't know if true)
+ and - experiences.

there are some other camera shops there
mostly cater to digital crowd.
some buyers are tourists from india, etc...and local aunties ahso type.

maybe sim lim has ZERO professional grade photo shops

serious knowledgeable buyers mostly stick to Peninsula area -- say CP.
Other serious pro grade-service shops like Gopes are in Orchard.
Max Photo used to be quite good, do not know about now.

Send e-quote to MS Color, then with the e-quote go down to their shop at Ang Mo Kio central to buy.

I do agree that there's ZERO knowledge on cameras for SLS. Basically, salesmen there juz wan to sell and make a quick commission out of it without even knowing what they are selling.

However, I do believe that AP has one of the best prices around. The buyer has to know what he wants (not recommendation) and what the package comes with and do a thorough check before leaving. Anyway the responisbility always lies with the buyer wherever he goes to buy things.

i got some ridiculous offers at Sim Lim like 550 from usual of 749 for a Panasonic Lumix FX 8. Is that too good to be true?

check for warranty card and set..

b' cso may be for export de.. have to be careful..

Usually deals that are "too good to be true" are just that: Too good to be true.

I once was nearly conned into buying something I didn't need. Was looking for a small digicam. Shop in SLS (not Alan) quoted me a price which was 100 CHEAPER than AP. Too good to be true, right? Check out the cam, all seems OK. Asked for new set and guess what? "I'm so sorry, the last set has just been sold, can I recommend you another similar model"?

The "similar model" costs 80 more than AP. Luckily I know the market price!!

LOL...

Actually several shops in SLS are earning based on quantities and as such, the low costs. But I think AP is the more reputated one among the rest of the shops. However, always check out the items before you leave the shop.

Cheers

I only buys from one shop in SLS...and that is AP, Good stuffs, Great price...
MS is equally good~~ Cheers
