Hi, welcome to CS :)
Both are equally good cameras to start with.

my first DSLR is D90, does it really matter what camera u start off, as long as u read the manual and keep practicing u'll be fine

They are very suitable. I started out with a D90 3 months plus back and am still using it

both are fine cameras...

try both of them out and see which one feels better in your hands/ controls make more sense to you / preferred placement of buttons etc and you will know which system is for you
