Hi all,

I am a beginner in digital photography (or photography, for the matter). I got an Ixus 330 but from what I've read, it is incapable of accepting lens attachments. Thus, close-up shots are impossible.

I've used a magnifying glass to take these pics. I'm thinking of paying $100 for the Ixus lens adapter from ckcpower.com (or somethg) to use a close-up filter. Wld the effect with the filter be better than this?

Many thanks for your comments and time.

Hi sorry to OT, but I'm kinda looking around to buy these plants especially the Venus Flytrap... could you tell me where you find these plants?

Yes it will be better

A little off-topic, but Far East Flora at thomson used to sell small flytraps at $7 each. They also had sundews and pitchers.

Hi camdude, can share where to find such plants?
And u really used a magnifying glass??? COOL? any special technique? Must try ;p

just for the newbies, macro can be easily achieved with a slr and a 50mm.

Instructions:

Unmount the 50 mm, flip it upside down and hold it to the mount as light tight as possible. using your hands and body to move in and out towards your subject you will achieve a human bellow system.

its a very good method towards cheap macros. :)

enjoy
