1. In which area is critique or feedback to be given?
Composition , lighting, DOF with respect to food photography

2. What were you hoping to achieve with this image?
Capture a dish which I enjoyed

3. Under what circumstance was the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
Light was coming from the right from the window.

4. Thread-starter's personal thoughts about the image.
Personally I like the shot in a sense the texture of the patty was captured, something which i felt important.

Thank you in advance for your critique.

Lighting is too flat. I can't see any juicyness in the beef or the mash potato. The red cabbage on the beef is out of place, it steals the subject focus.

Thank you Rashkae and Zaren.

@Rashkae in this situation, as mentioned that the lighting is flat, in your opinion should i use bounce flash?

@Zaren other than changing the aperture, is it possible to achieve shallower dof by altering the angle from which i take this shot?

The lack of contrast in ts shot makes the food less appealing than it should be. I would go for contrast between ts and zaren's. I feel the red cabbage is alright as it appears to be part of the garnish on the patty, however ts can consider pushing red cabbage higher.
