This is my first thread after months of inactivity due to A levels. During that period of frequent dehydration and brain fratting, i managed to take up another hobby- flashlights!!!

Yes call me crazy, but there are others too, possibly lurking in this forum, afraid that exposure may cause them insequential banishment into the basement for geeks (are'nt photographers geeks as well?)

So here are a few shots to get us started with (wth, is'nt there a separate sub-forum to post flashlight pics here, abstract is like...) Beamshots combine both my hobbies- photography and flashlights (they call it flashaholism)

Oh for those interested in joining this engaging fun energetic blasting light and crazy hobby heres a link to get u started-> http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/index.php?

First up - BOREALIS 1050 Flashlight (if that makes any sense to you)

and plenty more which i will post later... before i head overseas for vacation :bsmilie:

Ok this is one aspect of geekdom I cannot fathom. Why torchlights? What are the special functions of these besides illumination?

Probably more power, selectable spread of light? Some heavy ones can be used as batons?

1) Yes, my borealis can be used as a baton

2) the TK11 has great throw for illuminating far away objects at night

3) the fenix P2D is a great EDC (every day carry) and does'nt take up much space in ur pocket

4) the fenix L2D is an all rounder and is used as a back up

5) the fenixes have adjustable modes such as SOS and strobe and low

Viewing the first few shots of your current craze (flashlights), I can't grasp just why you are so fascinated with those flashlights, then when I scrolled all the way down then I can see why you are so fazed with these flashlights. Keep it up!! Its always good to have something that interests us, no matter how other ppl may view your current obsession as ;)

A point to note: I would prefer if your first few shots of the flashlights are not cropped. Most of them has part of the flashlight croppped. In this type of shots you want the viewer to see the subject itself and none other subjects (hence the choice of using a white background), so it would be better to show the subjects in full. Just my $0.02

Keep shining & Cheers

Thanks ah tiow for the advice :D

I just realised that there is this crazy thread in the kopitiam a few years back about flashlights that exceeded 1000 posts and had to be closed by a moderator --- http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51398&pp=20&page=62

Its been a few years already, so im gonna start a new thread about flashlights there :bsmilie:
