Batteries for Cold Weather?

and planning to bring me a70 and rechargeable batteries (sanyo ones)
but my senior told me to get NiCd batteries cuz e normal batteries wont work in e the colder periods of e season...

Nope, not true. I have had no problems with NiMH for extended periods down in -15 to -20 deg C. No problems even at -34. Though it really saps the life out of it fast. But nothing too serious, for a A70 cam you still can easily pump 100 shots from it with LCD usage. NiMH is so much cheaper than NiCd, a 2100 sanyo costs only $3. Just buy 3 sets.

it says normal NiMH can also work but not as good as lithium..
didnt state how cold e NiMH can work..

No problem.

I think you will be more concerned about how to take pics with a small digicam in gloves than battery life. Presuming that you it's your first trip to a winter country lar....

but thinking of upgrading to s1 is when i get there
