woah, quite impressive enhancement

i say both are equally nice..

the colour one has a nice tone to it
the bnw one has intriguing details..

the original one needed a colour contrast subject, say a ladybird or a red bud. Or to retain the basil leaves as the main subject then set the basil in a colour contrasted environment, i leave that to your imagination. Changing it to b&w takes away the need for a colour contrast and also makes the highlights at the edges of the leaves stronger.

i quite like the colour version, but with levels reduced to get a deeper green colour.
