Aiyah... haven't buy si boh...

Simple..

D70S
18-70DX
50 f/1.8
SB-800 and u're good to go

BBB MTL, buy first talk later.

I second that.
If budget is a problem, get the 2nd hand D70s from the B&S forums. (Save around 300-400)
Also, a SB600 should be sufficient for your needs (so you save another $300 there)

hmmmm, is D70s a notch above????..... actually my intention is to get a not too ex body and save some $$ to build up on the lens...

for entry i think...
1.) used D70 or D70s
2.) 18-70DX kit len.
3.) tokina 12-24 (which is good and solid as tank)
4.) SB600 or SB800 (suggest u play around with the build in flash, then decide later for the flash)
5.) Sigma 70-300 (for budget telezoom range) or Nikon 70-300 ED OR OR OR AF80-200

18-200 is good for "everything-in-1-len" option, but the focal length ratio is too huge, the picture quality might not as good as those with shorter focal length such as 70-200/80-200.

Don't simply BBB and then regreat later, unless you have such a preparation to upgrade/degrade. try to get 1 for urself to play around from your friend, then you'll have a better picture what you NEEDS and what you WANT.

Thank bro, you are the 3rd or 4th bro to ask me take D70 instead of D50... :) .... is it D70 good or D50 not so good.... :bsmilie: :dunno:
Anyway, will look at your advise on the lens... thanks

That is a good sign what.
Get her what she want and the rest is OK liao.
For a start it should be
1) D70S
2) 18-200 VR
That should last a while than the list continues
3) 85mm f1.4
4) 12-24mm
5) SB800
6) 10.5mm FE
7) 70-200 f2.8
8) 17-55 f2.8 or 17-35 f2.8
9) the rest espn can fill in.....

Yo bro, you refering to the 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro??? Good for macro?? How good/bad it compare to Nikon 105mm??

wah lan, post until I blur liao.... thought I already post a thread, but cannot find... never mind, post again.....

Bro espn and the all the bros, I am more or less looking at either Nikon or KM system... for Nikon system, I am looking at the following:

1. Nikon D50 w/kit lens (or D70 body only)
a. 18-55mm Kit Lens
b. 12-24mm(Tokina)
c. 50mm/f1.4 (if got kit lens, then 85mm f/1.8)
d. Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro or Nikon 105mm Macro
e. Speedlit SB800

the setup passable or not??? :dunno:

Just change the 12-24 to Nikkor 12-24 and 70-300 Sigma to 70-200VR and you're set to go. You'll thank me in the long run for making you BBB
