Looking for a backup camera for my D80. Considering a small camera like the P5000 or Sony T100. I've looked at some images from a T10 and found them to be quite grainy/ noisy
 Will the T100 be any better? The last non-DSLR camera that I used before (H5) seemed to be much better (but the size is a bit too big for a backup camera).

f31d.

If the choice is between both mentioned lens, get the Sony. With Carl Zeiss, you can't go very wrong. My backup cam are both Sonyies, a F707 and the compact W5. VERY happy with both of them!;)

f31fd

IMO, f31fd is still the best one in the market

go with the p5000.
am getting one as backup.

sony, well exp and imo, hopeless.
f31d, good cam and good colors.
p500, cheap and imo hybrid dslr/pns, results and handling close enough to a dslr.

Must it be a point and shoot?

Why not something like a D40X for size and D70 for price?

At least ur assured of image quality and lens can be reused.
