Backdrop paper keeps slidiing down

Hi everyone,

Recently bought a backdrop stand for home use, but after setting up the paper roll unrolls itself, free roll I think some call it. How do I stop this? Other than shoving a newspaper into the roll?

I use those big clips for clothes to clip both side of the roll

Get some large A clips from 2 dollar stores.

If have enough to unroll, reverse it. The end will be hang up instead.

use the pulley, roll down the paper background, stop at the length you want, THAN use a chair or ladder, climb up and use the large
clothes pegs to secure the paper roll.

OR use the large cloth peg to secure the chain on to the Auto pole/Background Stand.

No, I mean the pulling up part, the pulley doesn't seem to work. Does putting the pegs help?
