lets not get too worked up over this. its all the fault of the australian media for manipulating the views of the aussie people. there are more important things to worry about.

Somehow, we managed to forget the other 154,999 humans who died yesterday...

People die everyday, still it is not same as to take someone's life away. To many, well it is our law and since I didn't physically throw the switch that took a life, I am not responsible.

Well, indirectly "we" are all responsible, don't want to get into the specifics but think about it, who makes these laws?

Can't change what's in the past but can help spread awareness so future is better.

As always there are overlapping issues. The media is also after a nice simple jucy story, they don't like complexity.

The guy was a convicted criminal. While no one disagrees with the criminal act, many disagree that the punishment was equal to the crime and many more argue over the 'deterrent' effect. But all these get academic and the media doesn't want that sort of academic complexity. So they forget all that and whip up a frenzy on just one issue nice simple issue - that this guy is going to get 'legally' killed, and how barbaric a legal system that allows it must be.

It's a complex issue and the media just dumbed it down.

And some people are just stupid. After all the media attention in Australia the possible death sentance in Indonesia for Michele Corby over importing canabis into Indonesia and her guilt is possibly not even clear, and another batch of bozo's fly over there and get caught trying to smuggle drugs out. After all the media attention Corby got, people were still prepared to risk a death sentance to smuggle. They aught to be shot for stupidity.

surprising relevation in st today. nguyen's brother was also a convicted drug trafficker. his jail term was suspended by aussie judge in view of the pending execution of his convicted brother here.

his brother is no angel..... almost beat another guy to death with a group of his friends

This probably highlights the powerful hands of the invisible evil people behind the young drug mules.

The two bags of heroin Nguyen Tuong Van tried to bring in Australia were worth A$800,000 in street value.
