I heard a story on the radio the other day concerning this and what it said is that US has been given several boxes of bones by India and there is possibly over 800 different individuals contained in these boxes all said to have perished flying the hump with supplies for Chinese trying to fight Japs and communists. In the western world we don't hear nearly as much about the war in China at that time in fact hardly anything really...at least not in my time and I have been educated through private university level an exceptional student in world history I might add...I've heard about it but not so much my peers as it has never been much part of the curriculum or our history books.
These were top secret missions. Public will not know much.
All I can say Jap are as guilty to the max. They deserve the A bombs
Yeah these missions and these Americans mentioned maybe...but the average American's knowledge of what went down in China (the not secret stuff) those days is nil.

The whole story of Konigsberg reminds me of that railroad car at the end of WW1...the Germans deserved it I suppose. And add all the colonial demarcation of boundaries in the Middle East after WW2 and one begins to wonder if they aren't staging stuff for future profits.
