Hmm judging from your big grin, you do sound rather pleased that your pics have been leeched. Flattered eh?

Set up an account, reply to peiyun_307,
say you are that Fuji girl, and you like the
photo and would like to set up a private
session with peiyun_307 to shoot you.
Invite a few clubsnappers along, and we'll
take over from there.....
:D

Try not to post any more of this kind of pic anymore.

Hope the gals dun get any harm from this.

Have you try putting in a watermark right across the chest?

yeah man, after a painful experience, most pictures i posted on net had my name splashed across the centre.

It severly dampen their intrest

The worst thing is they talked as if they were the ones who took the photos. Desperate people... Hai...:what:

To rectify this, click on the link that says "Click here to report pornography, spamming, or other abuses on this page." and then explain why the pic should be taken down.

Keep doing this 2-3 times a day until its gone.

That was the only effective way to remove the picture.

If its still not effective, let us know and we will contact sggirls admin on our behalf.

Maybe throw around some loose talk of legal action and sound serious... That ought to get some feet moving...

if I'm not wrong, one of togu or sniperd's shot also was leeched to sggirls.com

I think this is not right, I would demand sggirls.com to take them down immediately, maybe Darren can help in this, after all we've the originals.

Photoforums is not an issue, I know the webmaster, although not personally but I know where to find him. :) Pretty nice guy.

Just damn sickening to find people coming by this forum and abuse the art of photography for some lame domains like sggirls.com for the 'art' of appreciating beautiful singapore ladies.

Dohz.

Just my RMB0.02c

Hi guys,
Is there anywhere on this website that specifically state the rules and regulations of posting pictures? If not, then we better get a disclaimer up somewhere, as obvious as possible.
Something like:

"All pictures and images are property of the respective contributors... blah blah.... and should not be downloaded, reused and reproduced without the prior permission of the original owners."

Although copyright is automatically confered on the original maker of the intellectual property, putting up a disclaimer like should add legitimacy to our claims. Also, it is possible that the adminstrators of www.sggirls.com has already breached intellectual properties laws, since they did not verify the copyrights of the pictures that they have on their website.

At least that's what I think. Please correct me since I've only read through the website at the Intellectual properties office of Singapore.

Excerpt from the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore:

"Infringement of copyright - Liabilities

Copyright protection is automatic and not subject to any formalities. If any one, without the authority of the copyright owner, does one of the things for which the copyright owner has the exclusive right to do, there is a direct infringement. It is important to note that, for a direct infringement to occur, neither intention to infringe nor knowledge that the acts alleged constitute infringement is necessary. However, a direct infringement attracts only a civil liability. The onus of proving copyright infringement is on the person who claims copyright and an independent creation, even if it is identical, is not an infringement.

In addition, it is also a violation of copyright if any one sells, lets for hire, by way of trade offers or exposes for sale or hire, imports for the purposes of sale or trade, any infringing articles which he knows or ought reasonably to know that the making of the article constituted an infringement of the copyright. Such a violation attracts both civil and criminal liability in Singapore.

It is also an offence for any one to have in his possession, any articles which he knows or ought reasonably to know to be infringing copies of a work for the purpose of selling, letting for hire or distribution in trade. In this connection, there is a presumption that the possession is for the purposes of sale if the person is found to have 5 or more infringing copies of any work.

The civil remedies for the copyright owner include injunctions, damages or account of profits and delivery up of infringing copies. Where it is appropriate to do so, such as where the flagrancy of the infringement was shown, the court may also order any appropriate punitive damages.

Criminal proceedings may be instituted by the State or by the copyright owners who are authorised by the State to do so. This ensures that there is sufficient flexibility in the enforcement of rights. Criminal penalties for infringement by selling, letting for hire or exhibiting in public are:

a S$10,000 fine per infringing copy, up to a total of S$100,000, and/or
imprisonment up to 5 years."

Send this to the adminstrators of sggirls.com. Maybe it will prod them into doing something quicker

Yeah... read about the thread, unfortunately SBA and IDA don't have jurisdiction in these issues. It's the IPOS that governs copyright issues.

Refer them to COPYRIGHT ACT (CHAPTER 63) of the Singapore Statutes.

Actually, there's a legal basis for the authorities to close down the site as well as to prosecute the owners. This is because the site can be deemed undesirable as it promotes the act of copyright infringement. Even if the moderators does not participate in the act of infringement, by not verifying the copyrights of the images before they are posted, it's already considered an infringement of copyrights. the penalty for such infringement are as posted by me above.

We have actually contacted IPOS before on this issue, but their response is that its up to individual copyright owners to pursue their copyright claims.

And you can only do this after repeated attempts to contact the owners of the site to take down the infringing images have failed.
