There comes a time when everyone makes his journey on a foot that he thinks is right. And eventually comes a time when he hits a crossroad of some sort.

For those who are newbies like myself, started ur hobby into photography for over a year, have u hit the crossroad where u feel that u have to make a stand between digital & film in ur hobby?

I feel that I'll hit this crossroad pretty soon for I can see the junction sign liaoz.

Digital is the future lah, similar to the MP3 for the music industries, and DVD for the movie industries.

Not at the crossroad yet.. money also dun have for now~
How's life been treating u? :)

Photography's a hobby of varying degrees for most ppl. Sigh... still wondering which path shld I take. :(

I still have my SLR when I started shooting film, was a bit fanboy'ed with film for a while, shooting b/w, slides exclusively.

After a while, the satisfaction just isn't there anymore, I kept to digital mostly, my F80 still in my cupboard. Probably will keep it till it disintegrates

I'm at a crossroad now.. but I cannot see any directions to head

Photography hobby at crossroad?... never, went straight to digital...;p

Life at crossroad?... yes, was there and am still there... or should I say, went on one path slowly while deciding should I turn back?........:bsmilie:

I see film as a complement to digital. DSLR for normal daily shooting, no need to worry about costs, and film SLR for more specialist shooting, in my case for slides and wider angle view.

I would argue that optoelectronics/photochemistry and analogue/digital are just different vehicles to do the same thing. The only "crossroads" I can think of were large investments specific to one side, e.g. building up a full-blown traditional darkroom, as money limitations may prevent one from pursuing both ways. Apart from that, I don't see why one ever would have to give up one side in favor of the other - as long as the interest is in photography, not in a specific photographic technology.

I am at the corssroads, either be rich and unhappy, or be poor but happy. How to choose?:dunno:

I feel that nowadays ppl are more or less over-whelmed by technology.

Photography is a form of art....Does it matters on what equipments u used?

In life there are lots of crossroads.

- Canon or Nikon

- L lenses or Third Party

- Digital or Film

- Art or Trash

:bsmilie:

I've not even reach the road yet......not to mention crossroads......in the meantime, i shall not worry too much abt the crossroads and smell the flowers along my mud path.....:bsmilie:

at least u guys still got road 2 walk, i got a big wall infront. :(

I think i'm at the cross road of needing to choose between becoming a film maker or photographer... :dunno: But i think i'll have 2 years to think thru. ;p

AHA... i just passed the crossroad. couldn't decide so i got 1 leg on each road..:bsmilie:
on a serious note, like it or not, digital is the future. took me a long time to cross over. and
since i can't give up film totally, i got both. slr n dslr. although i hardly shoot films now a
days, i still keep my film cam... wanna be reminded of my humble beginings...
pls note.... i'm not trying to say i'm famous now ah..:nono:
