Roger that!

Just curious, do you meter off with your camera to find out how many stop differences or same stop between the building, sky and water or just simply by looking?

This question pops up every now and then. To be honest, I do not even know how many stops of light I'm dealing with at the point of shooting and I don't see the need to since I don't aspire to be a walking, talking light meter. If I were presented with a scene in which I feel there is the need to know how much the light varies, I won't take any photo at all as it most probably be too contrasty for me to consider what's good ambient lighting.

My cameras are set to evaluative metering all the time and the photos you see would mostly fall into the range of what the camera can capture. At times, I do compensate to get the results I want but that wouldn't be more than 1 stop either way. I use the hostogram as a reference though and prefer to expose to the left since I prefer shadows more than highlights. My method of working is never complex or involve a lot of calculation.

Noted. Using histogram to check. Probably this is a faster way to get the exposure right.
Anyway, I will just start taking photos non-stop when the lights start to change till no more lights in the sky especially since the "golden minute" is relatively short. ;p

Hi

Within today and tomorrow there will be more and more people who would want your guidance. Since the 5 reserves are also full, will you be extending this number or should we wait for next time? :)

Hi, you can add on to the reserve list if you want to but I'd like to keep the group to a max of 15 as at the moment, only Red Dawn and I will be the guides for the shoot. Thanks.

Thanks. Modified the reserve list.
