Apple vs Samsung

apple beats samsung
samsung beats windows
windows beats apple

And the Bloody World will still spin on.... :bsmilie:

Pick a phone... use it... and be happy with your choice...

Steve Jobs is gone and lately Apple has not introduced any ground breaking new ideas.
Relying on law suits over patents that should not have been granted in the first place (because others invented those innovations first) will not last long.
Somewhere along the line, consumers will get sick of Apple's pedantic lawsuits over rounded corners, icons in a grid, fingers swiping to zoom, etc. Apple patent law suits can become negative publicity hurting Apple's image; because it can be perceived as anti-competition-behavior and as plain bullying.

Apple's strength currently are:
• the number, diversity and usefulness of apps available for its phone.
• its slick interface

As far as interface is concerned, others have caught up. That leaves the apps.

Windows is late to the party.

Android has a chance to build its own apps library. Over time, Android can kill Apple's advantage in apps.

iPhones are expensive.

At some point in time in the near future, Apple has to decide whether to lower its sale price per unit of iPhone.

If it does not, it will die a slow death.

Nokia still has a big slice of the phone market share. It makes cheap low end phones for humongous masses of people who just want to make a phone call and send some sms text. That's all they want and need from a phone.

iPhone 5s Mega will be a game changer with its additional row AND column of icons. Apple lunches on its nay Sayers. You just wait and see.

In case they convinced the idiotic US patent office to grant them another patent for something that is not very new or original.
Something that others already thought of, or demonstrated to the public years ago, or manifested in others' products years ago.
The piece of glass over the display screen.
Competitor's phone has a piece of glass over the display screen. Oh, they copied. New law suit.
Ask US court to ban sales in US of all competitor's phones that have glass on their display screens and claim very high damages.

I better grab a piece of the Mac now to enjoy the "legacy" of Steve Jobs before it gets diluted to nothing. LOLLL

Good news 6 June 2013.
This is called retribution.

Finally, can Apple begin to create good new products after the death of Steve Jobs?

So far, Apple has been relying on law suits against other companies.

Apple has started a silly game that now everyone else is getting a little better each day at playing.

Sure I am in support of patents. But rubber banding and other little itsy bitsy eiffy stuffs, in my books that's too overwhelming..

Anyhow, it is an utter waste of resources. If they put the effort cooperatively and on I&D, consumers would have benefitted so much more.

Tim Cook got a tough act to follow after Steve Jobs.
He is not a creative type who can innovate a top selling product. And he knows that.
For a while, Apple can continue suing other mobile phone manufacturers as a diversion.
It makes enemies and gives the firm a bad name.
But it is not a sustainable pretense.
Because the late Steve Jobs built up Apple's cash hoard, the 40% drop in stock price is being tolerated.
Perhaps not for long.
